A school is first and foremost about children. But we believe that the family, with its hopes, values and ways, is the primary context of a young person's life. We join with families in the education of their children. We value and actively seek out the knowledge parents have.
This is a fun place -- but it has a serious mission. A school assists in the unfolding of individual potential. We are privileged to be a very important part of a young person's life -- and prepared for every step.
This is a young school, but our roots reach deep into the history of progressive education and into our community. Our school was founded by a group of parents and teachers who came together when the Prospect School closed its doors in 1991 after almost 30 years to work, play, think and grow together.
We are a small school, but that is what makes each child's experience so big. We can give attention to each child. We can vary pace and rhythm for individuals. We can observe each person closely to understand individual needs, strengths, and their ways of learning about the world.
